The Roller Hockey Clinic was a great success, the clinic consisted of numerous drills for skill building along with team building contests. The day ended with the much anticipated scrimage by the players to show off their new skills. The clinic was well attended with over 200 participants, wow! Peter also secured time for goalies and time with the coaches. Thanks Peter! Alright SRHL time to put those skills to the test, playoffs begin tonight! Click here for the official SRHL website.
Dear SRHL players and families
Below is a waiver form that will need to be signed to
participate in the clinic. This form will be available at the clinic,
too. Checks for the $49 dollar fee should be made payable to "SRHL".
The Sunday pickup games will not be held this weekend.
The clinic schedule is below. Reservations are not required, but if you
have any questions please reply to this email.

Dear SRHL players and parents, guardians and families or SRHL players,
An exciting, late-breaking opportunity has come up which is too good to
pass up. Just in time for the upcoming playoffs, acclaimed hockey
instructor Peter Dale of USA Clinics will be in town this coming
weekend, February 6th and 7th. Peter is traveling here from Milwaukee
to put on a two day clinic just for SRHL members! Kids from the Mites
division upwards are invited to attend. (Please note that the Junior
Mites' game and trophy ceremony from 4pm to 6pm on Saturday will *not*
be affected by the clinic.)
This is a huge opportunity for the kids in SRHL to improve their hockey
skills and game awareness significantly. Not only that, the cost of the
clinic will only be $49, which is half of what such a clinic normally
costs -- and don't forget that these clinics are typically in faraway
cities like Escondido, Santa Barbara, and Paso Robles. To attend a
clinic in those places would cost many hundreds of dollars in gasoline,
hotel expenses, and food. Numerous parents in SRHL who have sent their
kids to Peter's clinics in the past used the word "awesome" to describe
the experience.
The sign-up fee entitles each child to a two hour session on Saturday
*and* a two hour session on Sunday. Each two hour session will include
kids from the same division, although there will be some overlap of
Mites and PeeWees. Goalies are strongly encouraged to attend these two
hour sessions each day, and goalies will also get a dedicated,
goalies-only session on Saturday afternoon!
We realize that this is short notice, but our hope is that every child
who can possibly make it to the clinic will attend. This has the
potential to bring up the level of play of the entire league.
The clinic schedule is below. Please pay when you arrive at the clinic.
No advance reservation is needed, but we will be asking coaches to
poll their players at practice this week to get a rough idea of how many
attendees to expect -- and we are expecting a lot! Note that the Mites
and PeeWees will be divided up by the first letter of their last name to
ensure that each session has a reasonable number of kids in it.
Please note that we are aware that the Super Bowl kickoff is at around
3:30pm on Sunday, but there is simply no way to fit in all the sessions
without some overlap with the Super Bowl. Besides, isn't an SRHL
championship at least as important as the Super Bowl?
Don't miss your chance to catch this season's action. All game schedules are posted here at the official Sierra Roller Hockey League website. All games are played at the Tri-County Fair Grounds in the Charles Brown Auditorium (parking is in the back near the livestock area.) The games are fast-paced and great to watch. My advice to first time attendees - dress warm and bring cash for the snackbar which includes soups from local restaurants as well as hotdogs, nachos, popcorn, and my personal fav hot cocoa. All monies raised benefit the all-volunteer SRHL organization. TONIGHT - Thursday, Jan. 28
